This is a demo. Three invented properties, so you can look around the whole app without signing in. The figures are worked out by the real thing, and nothing you do here is saved.

8 Example Road, Hamilton

Pet conditions

For a pet agreed after the tenancy started. Pets agreed at the start go in the tenancy agreement wizard instead.

A tenant has asked to keep a pet

Record the date they asked and RentGuide works out your deadline. You must decide and reply in writing within 21 calendar days. The clock does not pause while you wait for more information from them, and missing it carries a penalty of up to $1,500. You may only refuse, or set conditions, on reasonable grounds.

Issue the pet conditions addendum

Signed after the tenancy started, this varies your existing tenancy agreement, and the document says so. It is saved to your document vault and recorded in the Timeline. It is not in force until every tenant and you have signed it.

Generating it also sets up a signature for you and for each tenant, so you can sign it here or send each tenant their own link, or print it and sign on paper. Signing in RentGuide produces a final copy with every signature on it, filed in the vault.

Pre-filled from this tenancy: 8 Example Road, Hamilton, for Sam Taylor.

The pets, up to 3

A disability assist dog is not a pet under the Residential Tenancies Act. You cannot require consent for one and you cannot charge a pet bond for it. An emotional support animal is not a disability assist dog: the test is certification under the Dog Control Act 1996.

Maximum two weeks' rent, which is $1080.00 here. Charging more carries a penalty of up to $3,000. Lodge it with Tenancy Services separately from the general bond. Only one pet bond can be charged per tenancy.
