Change who is on the tenancy

For a tenant leaving, joining or being replaced while the tenancy carries on. RentGuide keeps the record and updates the tenants here. It does not write the document that makes the change: that is yours, and you can upload the signed copy to Documents.

The bond

Either way, update who the bond belongs to in Bond Hub. The paper change of tenant form is no longer available.

This is a periodic tenancy. A tenant can also simply give notice, and notice from one tenant can end the tenancy for all of them. If you have received notice from one tenant and others want to stay, agree that with them in writing.

The record cannot be edited afterwards. Leaving tenants come off this list and new ones are added to this same tenancy, with email consent off until they agree to it.

What RentGuide does with these details

  • Emails are sent only to a tenant who has consent switched on above, and only when you send them.
  • Record the reference your tenant already uses for rent on the Bank page, and imported bank statements will suggest which lines are rent. A payment reference RentGuide issued to a tenant earlier is still recognised.
  • There is no tenant login and no tenant inbox. A tenant cannot see this property, its documents or your private notes.
  • Recording that you sent a notice is a record of what you did. It is not proof of delivery, and RentGuide never marks one delivered on your behalf.
